Definitions

• "Service" — The Citaition AI visibility monitoring platform, including the website at citaition.io and the application at app.citaition.io.
• "Platform" — The application at app.citaition.io where users manage brands, view reports, and access diagnostics.
• "User" — Any individual or entity that creates an account on the Platform.
• "Brand Data" — Brand names, website URLs, competitor names, and other information you provide about brands you wish to monitor.
• "Analysis Data" — AI responses, visibility scores, diagnostics, and recommendations generated by the Service for your brands.

Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account on the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, do not create an account or use the Service.

Service Description

Citaition is an AI visibility monitoring platform. The Service queries AI assistants (ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity) on behalf of your brands, analyses the responses for brand mentions, positioning, and sentiment, and generates reports with actionable recommendations. The Service is designed for digital marketing agencies and brand owners who want to understand and improve how their brands appear in AI-generated responses.

Accounts

• A work email address is required to create an account. Consumer email addresses (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail) are not accepted for new registrations.
• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or are used for purposes inconsistent with the Service's intended use.

Subscriptions and Billing

• Free trial: New users receive a 7-day free trial with no credit card required. The trial provides access to core features with limited brand slots.
• Paid plans: Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. Prices are displayed on the pricing page and are exclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to the Service until the end of your paid period.
• Data retention: After cancellation, your data is retained for 30 days to allow for reactivation or data export. After 30 days, account data is deleted.
• Refunds: A pro-rata refund is available within the first 14 days of your initial paid subscription, in accordance with the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose: legitimate business monitoring of brand visibility in AI responses. Specifically, you must not:

• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Platform beyond the access provided by your account.
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicence raw data from the Platform without an Agency or Agency Pro plan that explicitly permits white-label reporting.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise determine the underlying analysis methodology, scoring algorithms, or diagnostic framework of the Service.
• Use the Service to harass, defame, or infringe the rights of any third party.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

Intellectual Property

• The Platform, its design, code, analysis methodology, diagnostic framework, and scoring algorithms are the intellectual property of Citaition Ltd. All rights are reserved.
• Reports generated for your brands are yours to use, share with clients, and incorporate into your own deliverables.
• Benchmark data, aggregate insights, and anonymised analysis derived from the Service remain the intellectual property of Citaition Ltd.
• Brand names, trademarks, and logos referenced in reports remain the property of their respective owners.

Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

• AI responses displayed in the Platform are generated by third parties (OpenAI, Google, and Perplexity). We report what these AI assistants say about your brands — we do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of their responses.
• Recommendations provided by the Service are data-informed suggestions based on our analysis of AI responses and our benchmark dataset. They are not guaranteed outcomes. Implementing recommendations does not guarantee improved AI visibility.
• AI visibility metrics may fluctuate as AI models are updated, retrained, or modified by their providers. Historical scores reflect the state of AI responses at the time they were collected.
• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Citaition Ltd's total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to the Service shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by you in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

In no event shall Citaition Ltd be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, whether based in contract, tort, or otherwise.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may terminate by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account. We may terminate your access if you breach these terms.

Upon termination, your data will be available for export for 30 days. After 30 days, account data will be permanently deleted. Anonymised benchmark data derived from your usage will be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable law.

Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Service, both parties agree to attempt to resolve the matter through good faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, either party may submit the dispute to the courts of England and Wales.
